Free Wifi Blanket Planned for London 2012

The largest free wifi zone in Europe is currently being planned for London during the 2012 Olympic games, O2 has announced. The mobile phone giant is planning to offer visitors free internet access across large parts of London, through equipment strapped to lamp posts and other street furniture. It is hoped that such a move will enable London to catch up with other large cities where free wifi is widespread, and give visitors to the games the chance to share their experiences all over the globe. It is also hoped that various underground stations will also carry free wifi.
